1995 – 2006 – Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute & Research Centre
Joined Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute & Research Centre, Rohini, Delhi as Director – (Admin.) during the phase of project planning. Was responsible for completion of the project as per time schedule. The equipment planning, procurement and installation were my direct responsibilities. The manpower planning and recruitment was done by me to ensure timely commissioning of this prestigious super speciality state of the art hi-tech Hospital. All policies were finalised and implemented to make Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute as the major oncological referral centre of South East Asia in a short span of five years. Took over as Chief Executive Officer of this reputed Cancer Institute of the country.
As Management Representative, responsible for establishment and implementation of ISO-9000 Quality Management System and ISO-14000 Environment Management System in the Institute. The Institute has been certified ISO-9002 and ISO-14001 compliant by Underwriters Laboratories Inc. USA in March, 2001.
Planned and established Molecular Biology Laboratory in collaboration with Dabur Research Foundation under the technical guidance of Indian Institute of Science and CSIR. The facility will work towards genomics and proteomics research work aimed at Gene Therapy and Vaccines in oncology. The facility has already been recognised by Department of Biotechnology.
The ongoing projects include :
60 beds Dharamshala under construction - completed
Modernisation of Radiotherapy Department – 1 st phase completed, 2nd phase planned under execution.
Project planning and construction of new block for proposed expansion in second phase. The construction for this Block has been completed and it would be put in to use after regulatory clearances.
The Institute has been awarded Indo-German Green Tech Environment Excellence Award (2000) and Golden Peacock Environmental Excellence Award (2001).

1991 – 1995 – Jaipur Golden Hospital, Delhi.
Joined Jaipur Golden Hospital, Rohini, Delhi as Medical Superintendent. Was responsible for building planning and construction followed by equipment planning, procurement and installation in the project stage. The project was commissioned in December, 1991 (OPD) and Indoor services were stated in February 1992 with 100 beds. The first phase of 200 beds was completed under my guidance.
During above period, also functioned as the Executive Head of the hospital reporting directly to the Management. Was responsible for the formulation of all policies and plans, their documentation and implementation. All medical, paramedical, nursing, technical and non-technical staff was planned and recruited by me. The financial, material and quality management were my other functions as Executive Head of the Hospital. During this period, Jaipur Golden Hospital established itself as a reputed referral hospital of North India and had an operational break even in its first ever-full year of operations.
1980 – 1990 Indian Army
Raised 100 beds multi-speciality Hospital at Suratgarh (Rajasthan) and commissioned it in a record time of 10 months – 1981.
Deputy Medical Controller and member of Dope Control Commission for 9 th Asian Games conducted in Delhi – 1982.
Part of the team designated to conduct re-organisation of medical services in the Rajasthan Sector.
Member of Indian Peace Keeping Force deputed to a neighbouring country and was responsible for medical set up and evacuation plan for casualties in addition to looking after the health of local population.
As Assistant Registrar of Base Hospital, Delhi Cantt., looked after administrative functions including manpower planning and recruitment, Financial planning, budgeting and financial accounting, material and equipment planning, procurement and record keeping.

Sant Parmanand Hospital (1995 – Till date) 150 bed hospital project with Orthopaedics and Ophthalmology as major specializations. First and second phase completed and functional. Last phase incorporating most modern O.T. complex completed. The Hospital also incorporates Delhi Institute of Trauma and Orthopaedics.

Jaipur Golden Hospital (1990 – 1995) & Multi-specialty Hospital. Started as a 200 Bed Hospital in 1990. Now a major hospital with 400 Beds in North – West Delhi.
Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute & Research Centre (1995 – Till date) Tertiary Cancer Super Specialty Hospital. One of the best equipped Centre in the Non-Govt. Sector in the Country.
CONTRIBUTION TOWARDS PROMOTION OF QUALITY AND ACCREDITATION
He has been a passionate advocate of the concept of Quality in Healthcare and for more than a decade he has been working towards Promotion of Quality and Accreditation of Health Care . His oration on “Development of Health Administration as a Specialty in India” was selected for IMA-AMS Medical Education & Research Awards in 1992.
Since then he has conducted a number of session for Medical Professionals in various forum on “Quality in Healthcare. He qualified as Internal and well as Lead Auditor for ISO – 900 QMS and led Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute & Research Centre to become the first hospital in the world to achieve ISO – 9000 QMS & ISO – 14000 EMS as concurrent certification.
As a member of National Committee on Health of CII, he has been entrusted with the responsibilities of leading the sub committee for “Development of Accreditation Standards for Healthcare Organization in India “.
His efforts to formalize the process of accreditation in India has finally evolved to constitution of National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Health Service Providers by Quality Council of India. He has been appointed Chairman of the Accreditation Committee of the above said Board. The Board will start functioning in January, 2006.

He has been actively involved in various programs related to Cancer Awareness and Early Detection. Has been responsible to organize number of activities for the Cancer Children.
A unique Cancer Home Care Scheme initiated under Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute & Research Centre to provide solace to terminally ill cancer patients is doing an excellent job to bring job to suffering patients and their families.
Apart from the above in his capacity as Chairman Co-Lepra, he is also looking after and supervising the activities related to Co-Lepra (Co-ordination Committee for Welfare of Leprosy Patients), an NGO engaged in Leprosy survey, education and treatment work in the slums of North-West Delhi. The NGO is attempting to have an early detection of Leprosy by door to door surveying of slums so as to make a Leprosy Free Society in future.
This Committee has also been giving special attention to the Women Upliftment by conducting training and self-supportive activities for them.
The NGO has recently taken up the task of creating Educational facilities for Children of Migrant Labour in these slums and running community schools right in the Slums. The schools have recognition from Department of Education.
